Online Zazenkai: One Day Zen Retreat

Zazenkai means “day of zazen.” Come join us online for a centering meditation cultivating mindful presence at home with the support of others. By putting aside our usual worries, we begin to open up our awareness of the life that surrounds us and listen deeply to our own direct experience. Many practitioners rely upon these retreats to renew and deepen their relationship to meditation and understand how zazen informs daily life.

One day retreats are suitable to newcomers. The day celebrates the mind of the beginner. Participants will be given a schedule to follow at home. Throughout the day, the group reconvenes online for guidance, teaching, chanting, and some meditation instruction.  The schedule includes  meditation while sitting and walking, practice of mindful eating and silent work, rest period, contemplation, dharma teaching and sharing. Participants are required to attend the full day from 9 AM – 5 PM.
