How is gardening a spiritual practice? To take up the life of the gardener is to look directly into the meaning of Buddhist emptiness – constant change and countless interrelationships working together. While we gardeners are naturally hope for rich ripe tomatoes and succulent lettuce, ultimately, the gardener is the one who is gardened. Gardening with the awakened mind is an interplay of being and doing. You are the fruit of your garden.
This day is for experienced and aspiring gardeners both. Come join us this day for a mix of activities – Zen teaching, meditation, and interaction with the organic farm ecology. Please dress for all weather conditions. Feel free to bring seeds to share with participants at the end of the day.
